Doctor! Doctor!

...and I'm back! I had visitors last weekend, so I didn't have time to blog. Before I tell you about all of that, I thought that I would show you some pictures of the creek last week when it was really foggy:

So, Mother and Father of Ken brought Grambi to visit last Saturday and Grambi took some anti anxiety medication to get through the plane ride from Kansas City. Unfortunately, she took a little too much and was pretty much comatose all day on Saturday. We were beginning to get worried, but she slept it off and by Sunday morning, she was her regular old self again. Seriously--we were contemplating calling a doctor because she was falling asleep during meals.

Saturday evening, I made one of Father of Ken's favorites--Parmesan chicken along with roasted cauliflower, salad, and homemade bread. Here is Mother of Ken's plate:

We decorated the house for Halloween and Kenna decided to try on her lobster suit for Grambi. Please note Kenna's proximity to Grambi in this photo. Grambi does not care for dogs, but she learned to love Kenna because Kenna would sleep on her feet and keep her warm.

On Sunday, we toured the area and looked at the fall foliage and then went to the farm store to buy gourds and pumpkins that you will see in another post about the Halloween decorations. We also bought apples and tomatoes there, so everyone was happy. Also on Sunday, Father of Ken installed new towel bars and a new faucet in the master bathroom, so we were busy.

For dinner, we made rare roast beef with mashed potatoes, salad, and more bread. I made apple turnovers and apple pie for the weekend's desserts, but we ate them before I could take pictures.

The challah that I made for breakfast on Monday:

Monday we went shopping. This was our haul. Most of it was Grambi's ;-)

Kenna helping Mother of Ken cut the tags off of everything:

We found things for over 90% off on Monday and that is what we call a successful shopping day. This reminded me of the old days when I would go shopping with Grambi (like when I was 4-9 years old) and we would "shop till we dropped" and then have lunch at Fred 'N Reds--don't ask.

Kenna loves her dad and she wanted to get in a few more pets before he had to leave:

It was a very nice weekend and I enjoyed spending time with my family. Now, I am getting ready for my next visitor, who will arrive on Saturday...

Stay tuned for Halloween decorations and some more "Reminiscing" thanks to Mother of Ken.

Love the pictures of the creek and your challah looks wonderful.

I want some of what Grambi's taking.

Roasted cauliflower rocks my world.
And I love that lobster suit! I wish Holly liked her princess dress as much as McKenna likes her lobster suit. Perhaps if I bought her a squirrel suit...
